Aims And Scope
The Interdisciplinary Journal of One Health (IJOH) is a peer-reviewed journal dedicated to advancing knowledge in human health, animal health, environmental health, and the biological sciences through interdisciplinary and One Health approaches.
IJOH welcomes high-quality original research, reviews, short communications, case reports, and other scholarly contributions addressing health, disease, biological processes, prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and related health challenges.
The journal welcomes research from individual disciplines and specialized fields that contributes to health and biological knowledge, while particularly encouraging interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research addressing the connections between human, animal, and environmental health. Research does not need to encompass all components of One Health to be considered for publication.

IJOH welcomes research across a broad range of biological, medical, veterinary, environmental, and health sciences, including but not limited to:
- Human and Veterinary Health Sciences – Diseases, physiology, pathology, microbiology, immunology, pharmacology, toxicology, parasitology, therapeutics, nutrition, feed science, gut health, reproduction, reproductive biotechnology, genetics, animal production, welfare, husbandry, and sustainable livestock production.
- Zoonotic and Emerging Diseases – Epidemiology, surveillance, prevention, control, and management of zoonotic, emerging, and re-emerging diseases.
- Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) – Emergence, transmission, monitoring, antimicrobial stewardship, and mitigation of resistance across humans, animals, food, and the environment.
- Biological and Biomedical Sciences – Molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, molecular diagnostics, biomarkers, translational and biomedical research, vaccines, and nanotechnology.
- Environmental, Wildlife, and Ecosystem Health – Impacts of pollution, climate change, environmental contaminants, biodiversity loss, wildlife diseases, conservation, and ecological factors on health.
- Food Safety and Security – Foodborne hazards, food safety, animal-source foods, nutrition, sustainable food production, and resilient food systems.
- Public, Occupational, and Community Health – Occupational hazards, community health, veterinary public health, human–animal interactions, and health risks at the human–animal–environment interface.
- One Health Epidemiology and Disease Surveillance – Disease surveillance, outbreak investigation, risk assessment, epidemiological modelling, and Integrated approaches to disease prevention and control.
- One Health, Climate Change, and Sustainability – Climate change and health, environmental change and disease emergence, sustainable healthcare systems, climate-related infectious and non-infectious diseases.
- Emerging and Interdisciplinary Areas – Artificial intelligence, data science, bioinformatics, diagnostics, innovative therapeutics, precision health, and other developing areas of biological and health sciences.
